Cookie Policy
Last updated June 28, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Seep ("we," "us," and "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website at seeplearning.com or use the Seep browser extension (the "Services"). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and how you can control them. For more on how we handle your information generally, see our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide reporting information. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called "first-party" cookies; cookies set by another party are called "third-party" cookies.
Why do we use cookies?
We use cookies for a few reasons: essential cookies that are strictly necessary to run the Services (for example, to keep you signed in), a functional cookie that supports our referral program, and analytics cookies that help us understand how the Services are used so we can improve them. We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not use them to track you across other websites.
The cookies we use
| Cookie | Type | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| seep_session | Essential | Seep (first-party) | Keeps you signed in to your account. | Until you sign out |
| seep_consent | Essential | Seep (first-party) | Remembers your cookie consent choice so we do not ask again. | 1 year |
| seep_tz_hint | Essential | Seep (first-party) | Briefly passes your time zone during sign-in so your learning day is set correctly. | A few minutes |
| seep_ref_hint | Functional | Seep (first-party) | Remembers a referral code from a referral link so we can apply the referral when you sign in or create an account. Set only if you open a referral link. | About 30 days |
| PostHog cookies (e.g., ph_…) | Analytics | PostHog (third-party) | Product analytics and session replay that show us how the Services are used so we can improve them. Configured to mask personal information on signed-in pages and to mask all form inputs. | Up to 1 year |
The exact analytics cookies may vary as our analytics provider updates its software. Analytics cookies are only set after consent allows it (see below).
How can you control cookies?
Essential cookies cannot be turned off, because the Services cannot function without them.
The functional referral cookie (seep_ref_hint) is set only if you open a referral link. It is not used for tracking, and you can clear or block it like any other cookie.
Analytics cookies are your choice. If you are in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we ask for your consent through a banner before setting any analytics cookies, and you can accept or decline. Elsewhere, analytics is enabled by default and we show a notice. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the seep_consent cookie in your browser (the banner or notice will then appear again the next time you visit), or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. Note that blocking essential cookies may prevent the Services from working.
Most browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings. See your browser's help pages: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
Other tracking technologies
Cookies are not the only way to recognize visitors. Our analytics provider may use similar technologies, such as web beacons and local storage, and may record session activity ("session replay") to show how the Services are used. We configure session replay to mask personal information and all form inputs, and we enable it only where analytics consent allows. We do not use these technologies for advertising.
Updates to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The date at the top shows when it was last updated; please revisit it to stay informed.
